Lunch & Learn

The Lunch & Learn went off without a hitch on Sunday and I had a blast with nine other photographers from the area! We walked around Annapolis, photographed each other, & had a delicious lunch. Here are a few shots from the day! :)

From Hair Genius to Photography Model

Yesterday I had an awesome photo session with one of my best friends and favorite hair stylist, Krystal! We decided to turn this random road-side field into the perfect location for a photo session using a little imagination and a lot of laughter! Working hard, oh yes I am!

Lately I've been working non-stop!  Today was the first day in over a week that I had the opportunity to sit at my computer and start editing three sessions from the last two weeks. As I'm watching the snow fall outside my window (and wondering WHY we go all winter without a storm & March brings a forecast for 7-10 inches?) it makes me want to run out and go sledding like a five year old -- I guess there are some things that I'll never grow out of!

March is completely booked in terms of my availability. I will be booking into April from now on and that month is almost already fully booked as well! Remember that prices increase as of April 1st. You must schedule a session by that date in order to keep current rates! 

My first wedding is only a few weeks away! Can't wait! I'll keep you all posted!

Elizabeth's Maternity Session

Elizabeth would win the award for best wife (and best mommy-to-be) when it comes to our photo session! First of all, she scheduled an entire Valentine's Day Getaway Weekend as a surprise for her husband. They drove all the way from West Virginia to my gorgeous hometown of Annapolis and finished their weekend get-away with a fabulous photography session! She is also nine months into her pregnancy and is due in a short time. This didn't stop her from baring the mere 40 degree day for almost two hours as I captured the precious last few weeks of her journey! Her husband was by her side the entire time, always encouraging and making her laugh constantly!

I had such an amazing time with Elizabeth and her husband Alex! So many smiles and even a few "happy" tears make this one of my all time favorite sessions! I'm wishing them the very best of luck as they welcome their very first baby into the world! =) They will make such incredible parents! Thank you both for sharing your lives with me!

Currently, I am still running a fever, still feeling exhausted, & am about to jump back into bed. Hoping to feel better soon! Thank you to everyone for being so patient! Finished editing one session today, three more in the queue. Busy, busy, busy!

Kira & Cameron's Session

There is such a chemistry between Kira and Cameron, that you are immediately drawn in from the moment you meet them! Cameron is a Towson Senior majoring in Marketing and Kira is a Freshman majoring in Special Education. They met at an on campus Christian Organization at the beginning of this year and have been completely inseparable since! We had such a great time and I know that this is a Valentine's gift that will never be forgotten!

Kira defied the cold weather with a gorgeous sleeveless top! I loved it!

As soon as we got a break it was time to warm up! Kira was freezing!

Woke Up to a Rainbow

This morning when I woke up there was this gorgeous reflection of the sun across all the frost in my yard! I ran outside (in PJ bottoms and my Towson sweatshirt) and snapped a ton of pictures. Winter can tend to lose the gorgeous color that we photographers love... not this morning! A combination of sun, ice, and the natural beauty of a cold morning filled my lens. I really love mornings like this! Happy Friday everyone!

There is a photography meet-up tomorrow with more than 40 other local photographers! I'm SO thrilled to be going! I'm bringing a yummy fruit salad & can't wait to go to Whole Foods later! =) Have a great weekend everyone. If you don't have plans tomorrow stop by the Polar Bear Plunge and support the Special Olympics of Maryland! My sister will be plunging with so many other Marylanders! It's going to be a blast!

Upcoming Changes

I hope all of you noticed (and loved) the mini make-over to the Natalie Franke Photography Blog! I wanted to make the page more user friendly and hope that all of you enjoy it. Be sure to follow the links on the navigation bar to either Join my Facebook Group or Follow Me on Twitter if you have accounts with either of those social networking sites! 

Just an update for all of you! If you are thinking about booking a session for this summer or fall, schedule by April 1st to lock in the small $50 for digital image files. After April 1st, prices will increase to $75 for copies of the digital images in order for me to begin moving toward the main stream industry of photographers. *Please note: The majority of portrait photographers do not share the digital image files with their clients, but I have always found it to be one of the best parts about the photography experience. Especially in this electronic age, who doesn't want the opportunity to use your professionally taken pictures on your webpage, Facebook, or to print on your own? So book early to lock in the super low rates... After April 1st they will be increasing slightly.
