Portrait Update!

I am currently editing two photo sessions (finished one last night!) and have two more scheduled for this weekend! I am thrilled, loving every minute of it - but I just wanted to let everyone know that I cannot book any more sessions before Christmas. I wish that I could, but exams will be taking over my life in a week and I want to give each client 100% of my attention! With that said, I do have some amazing deals in the works for this spring. One of which I am announcing today! 

High School Senior Models

Anyone interested in being a High School Senior Model for the 2010 graduation year - please email me! This simply means that you will be a spokesperson for Natalie Franke Photography and will be one of the first seniors photographed this spring! I will be taking two people per high school and I'm expecting the slots to fill up fast! The Littlest Heroes Project

One of my greatest passions in life has always been giving back to the community. I recently came across a group of extremely talented photographers who are using their talents to make a difference! I applied to be one of the international team, and was accepted this morning! The Littlest Heroes Project links photographers with children who have been diagnosed with life altering illnesses. I am proud and thrilled to be one of 300 photographers globally who is helping to remember our littlest heroes!

The Start of the Season!

Today marked black friday and the start of the Christmas season! For all of you who ran out to kohl's at 4 am and Target at 6 am - - I give you credit! That's amazing. I did a little shopping today with my family! It's so great to be home. I am super busy with images and have been a little backed up with work lately! I greatly appreciate all the patience. =)

Don't Miss the Girls Night Out Party!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! I feel like the holidays appeared out of no where this year - there are already decorations up all over town! I have a sisters' session tomorrow afternoon.. =) It should be fun!

Birthday Portrait Session

I did a portrait session yesterday for a client's birthday. Her and her best friend got their portraits done together for fun & they are turning out beautifully! =) These girls were so much fun to photograph. They jumped right in the leaves, fell off of a tree swing, and climbed on a boat all for the perfect shot. It was such a blast!

 I really love this weather. A little but not too chilly, leaves on the ground. I am getting more and more excited for some upcoming sessions this week! I still have slots available if you are interested in booking a session during the Thanksgiving Break. Winter Wonderland

Yesterday was our first snow of the season! As soon as I got off of work, my friends came barging in my dorm screaming "Photo shooot!" over and over. I grabbed my camera and snapped these shots. I was laying on the ground to get the perfect angle and ended up with a my leg covered in freezing cold melting snow. It took me an hour to finally get feeling back. After looking at the images - it was well worth it!

Flurries & My Puppy

I hope everyone is enjoying this little dose of winter weather & is having a wonderful week. I have two sessions booked for this weekend, and I wouldn't mind another flurry coming through during one of my shoots - I'll post pictures later this weekend from a mini shoot I did today in the snow..

My mom called me tonight to let me know that my dog, Bethany is really sick.. She might have had a stroke. She is my six year old Springer Spaniel and I'm so worried about her. Just say a little prayer and hopefully everything will be okay.

 

Stormy Shots

My week has been so busy so far that I haven't even had a chance to breath. I have a huge project due tomorrow for Sociology and I have been working on it all week. Hopefully I'll be able to get it done with only another hour of work, but we'll see! I'm excited for this weekend with two possible sessions booked, and endless possibilities for locations. I'll keep everyone posted on how they go. Ironically they are both with past clients too.. I love when my clients are so happy with their first shoot that they want another! =)

Thanksgiving is right around the corner! I was thinking about it today, and I realized that there are only a few days left in November.. I can't believe it! This year has flown by so fast. It's amazing how quickly things change. I can't wait to spend the holidays with my family. It's going to be so much fun getting to see everyone for the first time in a while. Yay! Everyone knows what happens after Thanksgiving... Christmas! (My favorite holiday!) I should probably start making my wishlist.... hehe!

The weather has been so on and off lately, cold then warm - sunny then stormy. This past weekend it poured Saturday night & right before the storm I was able to capture a few shots. Here are two from that day.. enjoy!

I am turning out to LOVE fall weather for shooting.. Even when it is at its coldest, there is something beautiful about the lighting & the leaves on the ground. Everyone's cheeks get a little rosier, and it makes for gorgeous pictures! I had the best time at my photo shoot on Sunday afternoon & can't wait to continue editing these shots. Not only were the girls beautiful, but they were a blast to photograph. 

My New Haircut!

I had a great day today at a photo shoot with my friend Emily and her family. I got to see a glimpse of the unedited shots and they turned out great (I can't wait to get them onto my computer at school!) I should have some edited and posted by mid-week.

Anyway, a little update on my life at the moment.. I got a major hair cut this past week with my friend Jenn & took of over 5 inches of hair! Scary, I know. I really like the new do & loved Emily's reaction to it today at the shoot. For a girl who has always had super long hair, its so much fun to have a change every once in a while. I can't wait to get it colored next week by my girls at Liu Liu. They are absolutely incredible with hair & the salon is just adorable! Visiting them is always the highlight of my month! They are planning a December event that I will be at (giving away some freebies & discounts!) so I'll keep everyone posted on the details. I'll put up a much better picture of my short cut then, but I couldn't resist the pop-art!

Rumor has it that we could get some snow flurries for Tuesday night!? I can't believe it.

Autumn Storms Roll Through

For the past two days it has been blustery and rainy. I miss that gorgeous autumn sunshine! Tomorrow I am photographing a good friend and past client, Emily for some portraits. She is such a beautiful girl & is super photogenic - it should be a blast. I can't wait to post those shots!

Think Out of Focus

Sometimes we focus so hard on the little things that we miss the big picture.. Sometimes looking beyond what is clear leads us to a greater appreciation for the world. There is so much beauty, so much happiness that surrounds us - but those joys of life are often blurred from our focus.

I'll just leave you all with that sentiment. I hope everyone is having a great week! Smile, have fun, enjoy this gorgeous weather! And, just for today, try to live - "out of focus".

Love for Black & White

I've always had a love for black and white photographs.. I have always loved the vivid contrast and the way a photo seems to appear more crisp & clear without color. A Bright New Day!

I woke up this morning to a gorgeous sky.. =) I was expecting the rain. I'm really happy with the outcome of last night's election too. Obama's speech actually brought me to tears. I'm ready for change & I can't wait for America to get back on its feet.

Caroline's Senior Session

I had a blast this weekend at my portrait session with a current senior. Not only was she gorgeous, but smart & passionate about politics. I feel like we talked more than we took pictures, but this was by far one of the best outcomes I've had! I'm looking forward to three more portrait sessions over the upcoming weekend as well! Not to mention that my website will be up within the next 24-hours! Can you believe it!

Fun Weekend at Home!

I spent this weekend (and will be spending next too) at home! There is nothing like my own bed and a home cooked meal after a few months away at college! I had an awesome senior session on Saturday and am going to get started editing those pictures tomorrow! Here is a shot of my adorable neighbor, Caroline from a quick sesh. this weekend too..
